Speaker:
Ma Yujiang (b. Shandong, China, artist and writer). Graduated from the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing, he currently lives and works in Hong Kong. Ma Yujiang's works use conceptual art, action art and painting as media to explore the issues of time, life and existence. His major works include Mother and Child, Expiry, and Heavy is the Night, etc. He regularly publishes commentaries in Ming Pao.
Ma's solo exhibitions include: "Mother and Child", Hong Kong Visual Arts Center, Hong Kong (2022); "Heavy is the Night", Foo Tak Building, Hong Kong (2018); "New Position Art Cologne", Germany (2016); and "Pale", Pearl Lam Galleries, Hong Kong (2015). Selected group exhibitions include: "Fear Without Fear" Times Art Center, Berlin; "No Boundary Art Season" Casey Museum of Art, Guangzhou; "Circle of Friends +" OCAT Shanghai, Shanghai; "Not Moving in Pictures" Tang Contemporary Art, Beijing; The First Huayu Art Season, Sanya; and "Contemporary Art in the Next Decade of XXX" Today Art Museum, Beijing.
