On July 14, 2020, I watched the Bastille Day fireworks display at the lake. The noise and cheering of the crowd drowned me out, my head was incredibly empty, and I suddenly wondered who I was. When I got home, I combined the sound of the fireworks exploding with the image of me repeatedly using a lighter to strike a fire. I keep relighting the fires in the darkness so that they mingle with the sounds of fireworks and revelry.
